Electronic, Ambient, Pop, Noise
OoopopoiooO propose surrealist and dadaist music for theremin, voices and electronic and electro acoustic bric-a-bracs.
The project was born in 2012 once that Vincenzo Vasi met Valeria Sturba.
Vasi – alien lycanthrope, eclectic and inspired musician – active on the international music scene since 25 years, famous for his unic approach to sperimentation and for the collaborations with Vinicio Capossela, Mike Patton and Roy Paci.
Sturba – young composer and multi-instrumentalist landed on the planet Earth 25 years ago on a little sugarloaf made spaceship full of coloured instruments – active with original projects (Vale & the Varlet, S.T.U.R.B.A.) and member of the “Grande Abarasse Orchestra” of John De Leo.
OoopopoiooO | Electronic, Ambient, Pop, Noise
Since their born, the OoopopoiooO lived an intense concertistic activity in Italy, Europe and Americas. In 2015 they published their first album, homonym, with Tremoloa Records, label of the guitarist and producer Asso Stefana.
OoopopoiooO – Mister Theremin (Official Video)
Further than the theremin, instrument in which they are the highest representatives, in their auditive Luna Park you can find about everything: violin, electric bass, keyboards, minisynth, toys, cardboards, gummy pigs, percussions, snare, suggestive voices as well as mellow and terrifying.
Al this instruments distributed in two almost specular sets, the large use of the loop station and of electronic music played live, bring the acoustic mass of this unusual duo at the levels of a little orchestra, able to host all their parallel worlds in a kind of floating multiverse, that put himself in between of pop and auditive experimentation, crossing often very “far” artistic universes.
Their collaborations find space even in the world of literature (Ermanno Cavazzoni, Stefano Benni), of visual arts (Cosimo Miorelli, Luigi Minguzzi, Massimo Ottoni, Frame by Frame Animation Studio), of the sound addition to the silent films (in 2014 they win the festival “Rimusicazioni”, of the independent and experimental scene ((Enrico Gabrielli e Calibro 35, Surgical Beat Bros, Luke Fishback -Lucky Dragons, Martin Benavides, Edoardo Marraffa, Sebastiano De Gennaro, Filippo Monico etc.).
OoopopoiooO is an across-the-board project that stepped already on a big variety of festivals like Young Jazz for Umbria Jazz, Isole che Parlano, Verucchio Festival, B-classic (Tongeren, Belgium), Electromagnetica Theremin Fest (Santiago del Cile), Flussi, Dancity, Hai Paura del Buio? etc.
Every concert of OoopopoiooO is an experience of sounds and visions, where you can easily lose yourself in dreamlike atmospheres and leave yourself be cradled by impalpable sounds but even surrend to the rhythm and the lightness of the songs.
OoopopoiooO live at Spazio Aereo

SMALL CHANGE REVIEW
“…OoopopoiooO: CANNIBALI DEL THEREMIN!…”
GIORNALE DELLA MUSICA
“…. Un album davvero ottimo, studiato nel minimo dettaglio e dove tutto sembra al posto giusto, che ricorda ancora una volta come la ricerca dell’originalità non richieda necessariamente di sacrificare il gusto per la melodia sull’altare dello sperimentalismo…”
“…Non vi curate di noi e ascoltate!…”

Mexico Tour: Autumn 2017, Spring 2018

Snowapple is a group of multi-instrumentalists / singers from Amsterdam and Mexico. Playing original songs which they describe themselves as pop/folk/opera/avant-garde cumbia.
Drawing on uncommonly contrasting musical backgrounds the members of Snowapple form a remarkable ensemble. Their giddy leapfrogging between genres, combined with the wide range of instruments they play, effectuates an incomparable sound.
The group started as a trio in Amsterdam, but during their travels to Mexico city they one by one picked up an adventurous and diverse group of musicians, adding Mezcal and summer-vibes to the music and expanding Snowapple into an even more explosive, eccentric and theatrical act.
The group is currently touring the US, Mexico and Europe and is working on their 4th studio album. Their music has been played multiple times on BBC Radio and they made several appearances on international TV.

Electro Acoustic Ethno Experimental Music – ARGENTINA
Rumbo Tumba is the electro-acoustic experimental ethno music project of the Argentine Facundo Salgado, in which experiment and fuse rhythms and ethnic musical textures originally from different parts of South America, principally from the Andean region, with Urban beats like Dub, Hip-Hop and House.
He’s work harmonize the Deep desire to live in direct contact with the nature with the dynamics of the everyday of the big cities, opening a path between the two apparently antagonist worlds. Mountains in cities, earth and asphalt, wood and electricity, they fuse together to make his music.
Live is an orchestra man. Autochthonous and digital instruments are played and recorded in real time, creating an atmosphere of flight and movement and inviting to dance. Solid grooves of electronic drums and bass live side by side with the spell of the charango and the wind instruments typical of the Andean region. He’s an “artisan of organic loops” that is going to build step-by-step his musical fate, where tradition and modernity complete themselves.
From its beginnings in early 2012, RumboTumba has made more than 10 national and international tours, playing at various renowned arenas and festivals that includes: Festival Pirineos Sur (Spain); Festival Jazz al día (Spain); NDAteneo (Arg); Konex Cultural City (Arg); Festival Conectar (Arg); Festival Ajusco (Mex); Festival Real Instrumental (Bra). In 2012, he was chosen as one of the best loop projects in Argentina at ROLAND-BOSS’s “Loop Station World Championship” and was a finalist at the “La Biennale de Arte Joven Buenos Aires” (A biannual program that promotes young artists in Buenos Aires) in 2013. Throughout 2015 and 2016 he produced and curated the “Ciclo Cable Tierra” in the City of Buenos Aires, where he performed with some of the main exponents of this new Latin American music.
The particularity of his music has allowed him to share stages with a diverse set of artists, from traditional South American folklore figures, like Ramón Ayala, or from Latin world music, like Lila Downs and Calle 13, to contemporary exponents of electronic music, like Poncho, Macuanos or Villa Diamante and also with artists such as Maceo Parker or Toumani Diabaté.
At the same time, he is part of a collective project called “Ensemble Folklórico Digital”, which is a selection of the new Argentine musical talent, combining the sounds of tradition and new electronics.
He has two independently edited EP’s: “GROOVE ANDINA” (2012) and “CABLE TIERRA” (2015)
and is currently producing its first LP whose release is scheduled for May 2018 and will be called “MADERA DEL SUR” because all instruments used were built by South American luthiers with wood from trees growing on the continent.
Rumbo Tumba is surely available for concerts all around Europe in the next summer, between May and September 2018. Bookings in other periods are considered depending by the most basilar feasibility factors.
