“Psychodelic krautsurfgarageblues and else from Oulu, Finland since 3015”
Formerly known as Sweat Shop Boys, these negative aged Finnish weirdos took their kaleidoscope, smashing it against the garage wall, then collecting the sharpest shards with barehands… to bring good luck, bad blood and a new name:
Since then they have released their debut album “The 1st Shards”, transformed into an obscene electro-rockin’ little sister The God Botherers (to begin a totally different story!)
made a dozen music videos including WWWW
that just reached 100 000 views in Youtube and last but not the least, for christmas they gave us their second album, “KRAUTALANKA!” including 20 minutes of psychedelic surf rock followed by SURF <3 BURLESQUE-tour, a pleasing teaser that at least makes YOU read this letter till the end, where the pictures come in!
All this in less than a year, while touring Finland constantly!
And they ain’t easing up on 2018, but let’s not go there yet..

“Farfisirens screaming and guitires howling they speed their sexy folk wagon out of the garage; not searching for their place in the stereo image of the modern world but driving around and collecting samples here and there and forming their unique sound. Some might say it’s restless and scattered while others find it versatile. Undeniably it’s all of those, and as undeniably it’s loudly telling where you can shove the modern monogenic expression.”
Anyhow, find it out yourself, from the following links for example:
La Ganga Calé, Funky, Salsa, Rumba & Roll, Flamenco Fusión, is from Madrid, where for a few years they have been timidly poking their heads and repertoires onto the stages of music festivals throughout Spain, showing off through climactic and passionate live shows, where vivacious rhythms abound, the boiling hot winds—or is it the verses—that are suggestively spicy, a band without insecurities or embarrassment, that elevates the morale of the crowd and paints little smiles on the faces of its audience members.
For some time, the band has been incubating and concretizing so that it can really handle all of the styles and erratic rhythms that it wants to tackle … and the day has finally arrived, Cosquillas de Azotea, their album, is a full-length, full-blown effort, filled with sounds that make you dance, think and travel. This is its first appearance before the general public after having launched a demo a few years ago that offered a sneak peak of the band’s talent.
Perhaps it is the distinct and suggestive tone of La Ganga Cale’s lead singer and lyricist, Kunque’s voice, which makes this epidemic of rhythm and color so contagious. Lyrics that flirt with love itself, that yearn for freedom and that come from the heart. A voice that is surrounded by a smattering of brilliant musicians in their element and ready to give it all they’ve got so that the music sounds calité, qual-i-tay. Perhaps it has been this aspect of the band that has inspired fans to CrowdFund this project in just two months!
Maybe it is this musician-to-fan, heart-wide-open dynamic that has managed to produce a first-rate artistic team responsible for this work that we now present to you…
If we review the content that was recorded in the studios of Jenny Records in Toledo and the sessions at Infinity Studios in Madrid between November 2013 and April of 2014 under the direction of producer Josué García (Producer, arranger and trumpet player in bands like Muchachito Bombo Infierno, M Clan, Miguel Ríos and Estopa among others), what awaits us is a little trip as endearing as it is fun, as much boogie as it is bold. We start with “El astronauta,” “El capitán” or “Vecina,” a few irreproachable commercial staples and catchy hits—popular anthems that spread the exquisite repertoire, “Mamá” is a sincere song, a retrospective tribute, “Bacalao” demonstrates the group’s instrumentalist chops and features rapper Ruzzo from the band Orishas, “La receta de la felicidad” is a song about life, a tribute to health and to love, the Caribbean hype of “Tarde noche” holds its own, “Cada vez” is a heartfelt ballad performed as a duet featuring Anita Kuruba, a vocalist with the band Canteca de Macao, “Perro guardián” is an unstoppable song driven by its contagious chorus, and wrapping up the album, “Déjate de escribir cuentos,” is an earnest finale that delivers us, with a blow, back to reality.
Call them what you want: funky calé, salsa from the hood, rumba & roll or flamenco fusión, in any case they are akin to the rhythm of the soul… all of this and more fits into this band from Madrid, that in reality, wants to be a band of the world: a brazen poetic accomplice, but one that delivers, amazingly orchestrated, everything adds up such that La Ganga Calé is a sure bet for your musical memories.
Cosquillas de Azotea
Cosquillas de Azotea presents its listeners with a new patchwork of styles and sensations, a formula that evades the now over-played mestizaje to embrace new registers with multicultural intention and a marked Cosmopolitan character, to dive into the arms of the rumba, salsa, funk or reggae, strong and consistently but with new energy.
Los Fuegos is an explosive blend of Rock, Cumbia, Balkan and Reggae that arouses the inner dancer that inhabits in all of us.
Their live performance consists of a collective of migrants born in Mexico, Colombia, Bosnia and Denmark that fuses their exotic musical traditions into a blazing carnival of stage-melting extravaganza. Los Fuegos steers the listener’s primal instincts towards the dance floor, they incite them to connect with their body and ignite their heart with up-beat fiery waves of sound. Proudly founded in Kolding, they have represented their town in the Danish Music Awards World as “Best live danish Name 2014” and continue to do so, by carrying the flag of their beloved ghost town and their mother lands everywhere they go.

OoopopoiooO – Mister Theremin (Official Video)
Further than the theremin, instrument in which they are the highest representatives, in their auditive Luna Park you can find about everything: violin, electric bass, keyboards, minisynth, toys, cardboards, gummy pigs, percussions, snare, suggestive voices as well as mellow and terrifying.
Al this instruments distributed in two almost specular sets, the large use of the loop station and of electronic music played live, bring the acoustic mass of this unusual duo at the levels of a little orchestra, able to host all their parallel worlds in a kind of floating multiverse, that put himself in between of pop and auditive experimentation, crossing often very “far” artistic universes.
Their collaborations find space even in the world of literature (Ermanno Cavazzoni, Stefano Benni), of visual arts (Cosimo Miorelli, Luigi Minguzzi, Massimo Ottoni, Frame by Frame Animation Studio), of the sound addition to the silent films (in 2014 they win the festival “Rimusicazioni”, of the independent and experimental scene ((Enrico Gabrielli e Calibro 35, Surgical Beat Bros, Luke Fishback -Lucky Dragons, Martin Benavides, Edoardo Marraffa, Sebastiano De Gennaro, Filippo Monico etc.).
OoopopoiooO is an across-the-board project that stepped already on a big variety of festivals like Young Jazz for Umbria Jazz, Isole che Parlano, Verucchio Festival, B-classic (Tongeren, Belgium), Electromagnetica Theremin Fest (Santiago del Cile), Flussi, Dancity, Hai Paura del Buio? etc.
Every concert of OoopopoiooO is an experience of sounds and visions, where you can easily lose yourself in dreamlike atmospheres and leave yourself be cradled by impalpable sounds but even surrend to the rhythm and the lightness of the songs.

Snowapple is a group of multi-instrumentalists / singers from Amsterdam and Mexico. Playing original songs which they describe themselves as pop/folk/opera/avant-garde cumbia.
Drawing on uncommonly contrasting musical backgrounds the members of Snowapple form a remarkable ensemble. Their giddy leapfrogging between genres, combined with the wide range of instruments they play, effectuates an incomparable sound.
The group started as a trio in Amsterdam, but during their travels to Mexico city they one by one picked up an adventurous and diverse group of musicians, adding Mezcal and summer-vibes to the music and expanding Snowapple into an even more explosive, eccentric and theatrical act.
The group is currently touring the US, Mexico and Europe and is working on their 4th studio album. Their music has been played multiple times on BBC Radio and they made several appearances on international TV.
